Aemme Colori was established in 1947 in Alzano Lombardo under the initial name of “Colorificio Lombardo” and began manufacturing enamels, primers and decorative coatings for the building industry.

Thanks to strong market acceptance by professional painters and strong sales in local retail shops, expanding customer demand compelled the company’s management to relocate to the larger city of Bergamo. The new production plant, linked directly to a new warehouse and retail store, successfully achieved the target goal of sinergy between production and distribution.

 This commercial policy, along with steadily improved product quality, was so successful that the company was required to seek new quarters yet again. In 1975, in order to meet the demand for more technically advanced coatings, the production unit was brought to Ranica and established as Aemme Colori. Colorificio Lombardo continued the wholesale/retail distribution at its location in Bergamo, while Aemme Colori’s plant concentrated on producing for an expanded retail market, and developing new, technically advanced products for the industrial coatings market. Located today on a 6.500 sq.m. area, with a 4.000 sq.m. factory, Aemme Colori can boast a long history rich with technical and commercial success.

Management’s strict adherance to long-range strategic goals has resulted in a consistently improved and expanded product range for the building and DYS markets; while research, development and implementation of the most sophisticated technical and manufacturing innovations resulted in the development of highly advanced coatings for use by the industrial and anticorrosive sectors.

The technological evolution of Aemme Colori’s product line was the result of a carefully planned, wisely implemented policy of expansion and investment. New professional people were hired and worked closely with the existing Aemme Colori staff, creating that highly essential balance between innovation and experience.

 Along with developing its human resources, the company also strenghtened its plant and equipment by upgrading and investing in technologically advanced methods and machinery. The combination of expanded intellectual and production capabilities make Aemme Colori an absolutely reliable partner.

The company’s goal of timely and flexible production, while maintaining superior quality and a competitive posture, required substantial financial investment. The selection and purchase of advanced equipment has enabled the realization of these complex objectives. A computerized process using a spectrophotomer defines colour at the formulation stage, the addition of automatic equipment for dosing resins and solvents has modernized the production line and shortened the production cycle, a storage facilitiy contains preproduced products for dosing by computer to streamline production schedules, a high speed depression system quickly and accurately transfers powders, while high performance vacuum mixers assure consistency and speed and automated tanks clean the plant and assure a contamination-free product line.

 At the same time, Aemme Colori’s laboratory was strenghten to meet an assortment of needs: new product research, development, and testing; the establishment of quality control standards; the development of project-specific products for individual customers; technical consulting and support; and the implementation of testing procedures to assure a premium quality, state-of-the-art product line. These substantial advancements have combined to grant the company and the customer the required quality and performance of a high technological painting product; thanks to this Aemme Colori is now well established on the market but still in continuous evolution towards the acquisition of new customers; among these there are the Ministry of Defence who approved Aemme Colori as supplier of the “Nato Green Infrared paint”, a special coating which is invisible to the infrared rays and is used by the Army for the painting of armour-plated vehicles.

In 1994 Aemme Colori made a further important leap of quality acquiring new technical and commercial resources by including in its product range a complete line of marine paints under the brand name of Skipper’s. The Skipper’s marine line is today suceeding on the national market and currently exported in several European countries.

 Aemme Colori also became Italian agent for the Copon products supplied by E. Wood Ltd, a worldwide famous leader brand in the anticorrosion field, particularly for pipeline coatings for the oil industry.

 The significant commercial expansion resulting from all these intiatives made necessary a further enlargment of the production area which brought in 1998 to the construction of a new factory section, including the modernization of the existing plant and the extension of the laboratory department. These investments increased the rationality of the production process, creating a new growth potential to be chased.
