High quality, long lasting idrophilic matrix antifouling paint. The high content of coprous oxide and other valuable additives, combined to the particular vehicle formulation, allow this product to provide an excellent antifouling power in the most varied conditions. The hydropfilic nature of the vehicle improves wettability and flowing characteristics of the hull in the water. It can be effectively used also in warm seas and miscellaneous water. Provides a controlled speed release of the antifouling salts which makes this product recommended on both medium speed boats and sailing boats. Not suitable on aluminium boats. Recommended for boats with speed up to 30 knots. The application of 2 coats is recommended,
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Bare Steel bottom. Apply 1 coat of EPOFOND AM-9 on sandblasted steel according to SA 2,5/3 and let dry for 12-24 hours. (If sandblasting is not possible proceed with mechanical cleaning to bring the surface to bare steel, apply 1 coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO and let dry for 8-12 hours.) Apply then 3 coats of SOLVER PRIMER allowing 24 hours between coats. Overcoat twith 2-3 coats of SERENISSIMA antifouling allowing min.8 hours between coats.
Bare Wood bottom. Apply one coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO and allow to dry for 8-12 hours. Apply 2 coats of SOLVER PRIMER allowing 24 hours between coats followed by 2-3 coats of SERENISIMA antifouling allowing min. 8 hours between coats.
Fibreglass bottom. Degrease with detergent solution and rinse with water. Light sanding with fine abrasive paper and apply 1 coat of POLIFIBER PRIMER. Allow 24 hours before sandpapering with fine abrasive paper. Overcoat then with 2-3 coats of SERENISSIMA antifouling allowing min.8 hours between coats.
Previously Coated Boat Bottom. If the old antifouling is in good conditions apply 2 coats of SERENISSIMA after light sandpapering. If the old antifouling is unknown, a patch test on a small area is necessary to check the compatibility with the new antifouling. If this is okay, sandpaper with fine abrasive paper and apply 2 coats of SERENISSIMA.
In case some tiny bubbles are experienced during the patch test, apply one coat of SOLVER PRIMER in order to insultate the old paint layer. Apply 2-3 coats of SERENISSIMA antifouling allowing min. 8 hours between coats. It is however recommended that every 3 or 4 years of repainting the old paint layers should be completely removed.
*Note 1. Brush application. The antifouling should be applied by longitudinal movement with respect to waterline. Wait minimum 8 hours before applying the second coat. A third coat of SERENISSIMA should be preferably applied on the waterline and on the rudder.
Recommendations. After the application of the last coat the maximum launching period of the antifouling is 1 month; with top quality copper based antifouling and after agreement with our technical staff, the launching time may extend up to 3 months, providing that the hull is protected from moisture, rain or atmospheric agents with plastic cover or similar material.
Colour. The color of the antifouling paint after immersion in water may result slightly different since small color differences can occur between different production lots: if necessary, mix them before application.
Remarks. The values specified in the present technical data sheet may vary slightly from one batch to another. The antifouling paint must not come in contact with water, chemicals or subjected to mechanical stress before the curing is complete. The wet film thickness refers to the undiluted product. In case of dilution, this value increases.
