Alkyd based one-component white undercoat specially formulated for application on wood and steel surfaces exposed to marine environment. It is used for the preparation of superstructures of boats and it can be overcoated with one-component topcoat finish such as Topkapi enamel.
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION SYSTEM
Bare Steel. The substrate should be sandblasted and pre-treated with EPOFOND AM/9 primer. If necessary fill up with POLISTUK polyester filler. Sandpaper with medium grain abrasive paper and apply at least 2 coats of SOTTOFONDO NAUTICA allowing 16-24 hours between coats. Follow up with light sandpapering with fine grain abrasive paper and overcoat with one-component topcoat finish such as TOPKAPI enamel.
Galvanized Steel, Alluminium And Light Alloys. Degrease the surface with epoxy THINNER 765 and apply one coat of EPOFOND AM/9. Allow 24 hours before sandpapering and apply one coat of SOTTOFONDO NAUTICA. Sandpaper with fine abrasive paper and overcoat with one-component topcoat finish such as TOPKAPI enamel.
Bare Wood. Apply one coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO diluted up to 30-35% of THINNER 107. Let dry for 8-12 hours and after sandpapering apply 2 coats of SOTTOFONDO NAUTICA allowing 16-24 hours between coats. Sandpaper with fine abrasive paper and overcoat with one-component topcoat finish such as TOPKAPI enamel.
Previously Coated Wood. Degrease the substrate and remove all traces of dust. Apply 2 coats of SOTTOFONDO NAUTICA allowing 16-24 hours between coats. Sandpaper with fine abrasive paper and overcoat with one-component topcoat finish such as TOPKAPI enamel.
