Based on the formulation of the already known and appreciated SINTOLIN enamel, combines ease of application with good anticorrosion properties thanks to the characteristics of its ingredients. The lamellar structure of the pigments used in its formulation (based on micaceous iron oxides) reflects the majority of ultraviolent rays (which are the main cause of chalking) and forms a resistant barrier against moisture, thus protecting the metal substrate from its main enemy: corrosion. These properties make of MICOX a finishing product for "direct application" on well prepared steel and iron surfaces, protecting them for long time and giving an attractive finish. It is always necessary to apply two coats of product in order to obtain a reliable coverage of the substrate. In addition to its anticorrosion properties MICOX gives a pleasant metalized finish, widely used on wrought iron, gates, bars etc.
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
STEEL/IRON
Bare substrate. If sandblasting is not possible, remove all traces of corrosion by mechanical wirebrush or sanding disk. Dust off, degrease the substrate with Thinner 107 or 900. Apply 1-2 coats of MICOX allowing the required waiting time between coats.
Painted surfaces. Remove any loose or powdery paint with a scraper. Remove trace of corrosion with a mechanical wirebrush or sanding disk and sandpaper the surface with medium abrasive paper (280-320). Dust off and degrease the surface with Thinner 107 or 900. Apply as soon as possible one coat of MICOX onto the bare areas. Let dry and apply 1-2 coats of MICOX allowing the required waiting time between coats.
Wood.
Bare substrate. Onto dry, clean and well seasoned wood apply a first coat of LIGNUM IMPREGNANTE and let dry for 3-4 days. Apply 1-2 coats of MICOX allowing the required waiting period between coats.
Painted surfaces. Remove any loose or powdery paint with a scraper and sandpaper with medium abrasive paper (280-320). Degrease with suitable detergent product and let dry. Apply 1-2 coats of MICOX allowing the required waiting time between coats.
