Acrylic antifouling specifically formulated for propellers, stern-drives and flaps. Provides high adhesion and high strenght resistance. The application of 2 coats over a prior coat of ELIPRIMER is recommended. The substrate should be at first sanded with coarse grain abrasive paper and degreased with water-soluble detergent solution (do not use solvents for degreasing purposes). CONTENDER ELICHE can be applied directly on previous compatible paints in good conditions. Application over different types of antifouling is not recommended.

SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATIONPRO CEDURE

Bare Metals. Carefully degrease, clean and sand the substrate. Apply 1 coat of ELIPRIMER and let dry. Overcoat with 2 coats of CONTENDER ELICHE antifouling allowing the required waiting period between coats.

Prevously Coated Surfaces. If the old paint is in good conditions and compatible with CONTENDER ELICHE, apply 2 coats direct of CONTENDER ELICHE after prior sandpapering and allowing the required waiting period between coats. If the old paint is not in good condition remove it completely down to bare metal and follow painting directions as per bare metals.
Recommendations. After the application of the last coat the maximum launching period of the antifouling is 1 month; with top quality copper based antifouling and after agreement with our technical staff, the launching time may extend up to 3 months, providing that the hull is protected from moisture, rain or atmospheric agents with plastic cover or similar material.

Colour. The color of the antifouling paint after immersion in water may result slightly different since small color differences can occur between different production lots: if necessary, mix them before application.

Remarks. The values specified in the present technical data sheet may vary slightly  from one batch to another. The antifouling paint must not come in contact with water, chemicals or subjected to mechanical stress before the curing is complete. The wet film thickness refers to the undiluted product. In case of dilution, this value increases. The above information is the result of accurate laboratory tests and practical experience, however, since the product is predominantly used outside the manufacturer's control, we can only guarantee the continuous quality of the product.
